‘Richard Deverell was appointed as Chief Operating Office for BBC North in March 2009 and started on a full time basis in November 2009.  His new job is at the heart of the creation of a major new network centre in the North of England, which includes the biggest move in the BBC’s History – with Children’s, 5 Live, Sport, Learning and parts of the Future, Media and Technology relocating from London in 2011.
 
 In this role, Richard is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic and operational infrastructure for BBC North. He will help ensure the right technology, partnership, ways of working and talent are in place to deliver the BBC’s ambitions as it seeks to create a media centre for the Internet age at Media City UK in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester’.
